All New Yorkers age 16 and older can get the COVID-19 vaccine as of Tuesday, April 6. Vaccines are being administered across the North Country at clinics run by the state Department of Health, county health departments and hospitals. Pharmacies such as Walgreens and Kinney Drugs are also taking appointments for vaccinations based on supply. All New Yorkers can visit http://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov or call 1-833-697-4829 to schedule a vaccine appointment at a state-run clinic. For the first time ever, the Essex County Health Department is opening the clinic to walk-ins. “If you live in New York state, work in New York state or study in New York state, and you’re over the age of 16, you can get vaccinated at our clinic,” county Public Health Director Linda Beers said Tuesday. “We have over 200 doses. Under 100 people have signed up.” The department released a graphic on Tuesday evening that showed there were more than 400 vaccine appointments available at the school at 33 Market St., Keene Valley.
