This morning, ohio republican senator Roger Portman said no to a democratic proposal in the bipartisan bill. It would have partially paid for the plant through irs reinforcement. One reason its not part of the proposal is that we had pushback. Another reason is that we found out the democrats had a proposal in the Reconciliation Package which was not just similar to the one we had but with a lot more irs enforcement. But this week really might be different. Two major Infrastructure Bills are working their way through the senate. Theres the bipartisan bill which is worth about 579 billion. Then theres a 3. 5 trillion package that democrats hope to pass through reconciliation. This week will be critical. By friday we could know whether congress can pass either or neither or both.
