Despite the bungle, Benjamin Rastrick and Margaret Fowlie Rastrick managed to pull off moving their wedding with only two days’ notice.
The couple and some friends were up working “well past midnight” the night before the wedding and her mum was back to finish setting up from 5.30am the next day.
They also managed to wrangle the 164 guests to the right venue, with no-one ending up in the wrong place.
“I fell asleep while I was getting my hair done in the morning,” Fowlie Rastrick said.

Fowlie said it had ruined the wedding which they had been planning for more than a year.
“If I hadn’t checked in and followed up, I would have arrived today with all my stuff ready to set up and that’s when I would’ve found out,” Fowlie said.
“I wasn’t even supposed to know, that’s the worst bit – if they’d cancelled, they’d cancelled, but they didn’t even give me the respect to tell me. ....

Free period products available in some Auckland Council facilities in pilot scheme

KIDSCAN
Being able to access sanitary items discretely makes life a lot easier, students at a Hastings school say. They were part of a KidsCan trial that provided education packs, ordering cards and carry bags along with period products.
Free period products will be available at some Auckland Council-run facilities as part of a pilot scheme running until the end of March.
The roll-out of the products, which will be available at 35 female, male and gender-neutral bathrooms, across the city, come after the announcement of free period products in school earlier this year.
The trial is part of a partnership between charity The The Period Place and Auckland Council. ....
