Woman facing charges for Maquon storage locker concealment has bond increased

Marcy Oglesby, the woman accused of concealing a dead body, along with several felony forgery charges has had her bond to get out of jail increased. Oglesby was looking for the judge to grant a reduction to her bond amount which was at $10,000 or $1,000 to get out. Oglesby has been in Knox County Jail custody since her arrest on Oct. 11. But instead, Judge Richard Gambrell granted the state's motion to increase bond to $100,000. Assistant State's Attorney Ashley Worby asked the Judge to take note of a 2020 Class 3 felony charge of forgery Oglesby pleaded guilty to. Oglesby's probation for that case would've ended about 30 days before her latest arrest. Oglesby was also initially arrested not only for concealing a dead body in a Maquon storage locker but for two Fulton County warrants for fraud and deceptive practices. Ramey found guilty of first-degree murder

A jury of six men and six women found 26-year old Maquesha Ramey of Galesburg guilty of three counts of first-degree murder for the shooting death of Rachel Likes on January 4th, 2021. The trial began Thursday, January 20th. Knox County State's Attorney Jeremy Karlin and Assistant State's Attorney Ashley Worby questioned 25 witnesses and introduced over 200 exhibits. The jury deliberated for three hours before reaching its verdict. In addition to finding Ramey guilty of first-degree murder, the jury found additional aggravating factors existed that made Ramey eligible for a life sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections. These factors included that the homicide was a result of the use of a firearm, that the homicide was cold, calculated, and a part of a preconceived plan, and that the homicide was, in essence, a drive-by shooting.
