Police and witnesses now say the driver of the big rig may have experienced mechanical failure. It all happened at about 8 30 this morning. Police say the big rig was driving northbound on railroad avenue in a rig designed to haul gravel or dirt. Witnesses say the man was flashing his headlights and appeared to be down shifting as if to try to slow down when he began sideswiping cars. He crashed into at least three cars before slammed into the restaurant setting off an explosion and a twoalarm fire. Witnesses say it was like a scene from a hollywood movie. Its scary. An explosion. Fire smoke everywhere. You could feel the explosion. I was so close. Right i was just right over here. And i just i just feel sad for the driver. Now luckily nobody was inside the restaurant. Its normally closed on mondays, or people would have been inside. And nobody except the big rig driver was seriously hurt. Police say the driver was killed in the fiery crash.
