Agent meets stakeholders, port users, seeks better collaboration
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has said his administration will establish a college of nursing sciences, as part of his administration’s plans to reposition and integrate the state into Nigeria’s medical hub. x
Obaseki stated this when the Secretary-General and Registrar, Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Faruk Abubakar, led other members of the council to visit him at the Government House, Benin City.
He said the state would begin the process for upgrading the School of Nursing and Midwifery to a College of Nursing Sciences, adding: “We are repositioning the state to become a medical hub. That means that our standard has to be higher than the national standard.
BENIN CITY – The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has inspected the Edo Inland Dry Port in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the state, to assess the level of progress with the port designed to accelerate socio-economic transformation of the state.
He said his administration will create the enabling environment for the port to operate and thrive, adding, “this is a viable and landmark project that needs patience, determination and a lot of conviction in achieving the set goals. I congratulate you on the job done so far in achieving the dream of Inland Dry Port in Edo State.”
He noted that the state government would leverage the agricultural benefits of the project, noting, “We have a database of farmers in the state. We will encourage them to produce more since they will benefit from the Dry Port project.

FG grants Edo dry port provisional licence

THE Federal Ministry of Transportation has granted the AMES-Edo Inland Dry Port, IDP, a provisional licence as port of origin and destination, giving the operator and management full power to commence engagement with investors.
Promoter of the Edo IDP project, Atlantique Marine & Engineering Services Ltd, AMES, who disclosed this said the licence was jointly and formally issued to the state government by officials of the Federal Ministry of Transport and the Nigerian Shippers’ Council during an official visit to the Edo State Government, recently.
