Seven beagles have been retired as teaching dogs at the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown, after careers helping students learn basic techniques. The college is changing how that happens, so the dogs are off to new homes.
A New Brunswick program called Safe For Pets Too works with shelters and police agencies to take in animals belonging to women who are escaping an abusive situation.
