Bataan police on full alert due to Typhoon Henry

BALANGA CITY, Bataan -The Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) on Friday placed its whole unit in 11 towns and one city on full alert status in preparation for Typhoon Henry. Colonel Romell Velasco, Bataan police director, said the preparation was in line with the program of Lt. General Rodolfo Azurin, Jr., Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, dubbed "Malasakit + Kaayusan + Kapayapaan = Kaunlaran". Velasco said the BPPO has conducted the accounting of personnel and assigned search and rescue personnel with the necessary equipment on standby, ready to respond at any moment's notice. He said the entire Bataan police is ready to cooperate with other agencies to include the 12 local government units (LGUs) in the province to assure the safety of residents. Accidental firing kills Bataan town police chief

Google map of Pilar town. ORANI, Bataan - The chief of police in Pilar town, this province died after he reportedly shot himself by accident early Monday morning. Col. Romelle Velasco, Bataan police director, identified the victim as Maj. Rizaldy Rubio, 43, a resident of Barangay Tapulao, Orani, this province. An attending physician declared the victim dead on arrival at the Orani District Hospital. The Orani police station said in a report that it received a phone call from May Rubio, wife of the victim, telling that her husband was rushed to the hospital after she saw his bloodied body with a gunshot wound in the right abdomen, sprawled on the floor. Prior to this, she said she heard a gunshot outside of their room. The victim's wife is also a member of the Philippine National Police with the rank of chief master sergeant. Bataan judge orders destruction of 5 kilos of marijuana
