Eight lives were lost on Saturday in Osogbo when a truck conveying kegs of palm oil and 61 passengers, ascending a bridge along Osogbo/Gbongan Road, lost control and fell into a drainage.
In the accident that occurred around 1.20am, 36 passengers were said to have been injured with many kegs of palm oil destroyed.

Three persons were on Sunday shot by gunmen, who invaded Koka village in the Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.
A resident of the village, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told
PUNCH Metro that she was already in bed around 11.30pm, when the gunmen numbering about eight entered the village.
She said the attackers divided themselves into two groups, with the first set of four men entering houses and bringing out the residents, while another set mounted surveillance on the road leading into the village.
It was gathered that a villager escaped from the gunmen and called a member of the Hunters’ Group of Nigeria to inform him of the incident.

Three people were shot late on Sunday by some suspected gunmen, who invaded Koka Village in the Obokun Local Government area of Osun State.
A resident, who preferred anonymity, told
The PUNCH that she was already in bed around 11:30 pm when about eight gunmen invaded the village.
She said the attackers divided themselves into two groups, with the first set of four men entering houses and bringing out the residents, while another set mounted surveillance on the road leading into the village.
Another resident, simply identified as Tayo Ola, also said a building that the gunmen entered first when they arrived the village was damaged with a bullet.
