Workplace report on Payette's tenure as governor general is officially released

The report confirms allegations from members of the Rideau Hall staff of “yelling, screaming, aggressive conduct, demeaning comments and public humiliations.”
The report, by the Quintet Consulting Corporation, was commissioned by the Privy Council, the body that oversees the federal civil service, after CBC News reported last July that sources at Rideau Hall said Payette had created a toxic environment by verbally harassing employees to the point where some had been reduced to tears or left the office altogether.

Report Details a Pattern of Aggressive Conduct at Rideau Hall Under Payette
The government released the findings of the independent review conducted by Quintet Consulting Corp. on Wednesday evening.
The report is heavily redacted, primarily to protect participants’ privacy, and whole pages of details are blacked out or removed.
Still, the report says Quintet heard allegations of “yelling, screaming, aggressive conduct, demeaning comments and public humiliation” behaviour that was “repeated and persistent.”
Representative descriptions of the work environment at Rideau Hall included phrases such as “the definition of a poisoned work environment,” “humiliation,” “disrespect” and “condescension,” the report says.
If the alleged conduct occurred as described, the report says “by any objective standard,” it would “lead to a toxic workplace.” ....

Multiple former employees say they re considering legal options in the wake of a blistering report into claims former governor general Julie Payette created a toxic workplace culture at Rideau Hall, verbally harassed staff and engaged in some cases of unwanted physical contact.
Other former staff members who left jobs at Rideau Hall said they are now actively trying to return to the institution. Rideau Hall is encouraging employees who left during Payette s mandate to contact human resources to see if they could be considered for positions. ....
