Our state suffered a tragic and devastating loss when fires swept through lahaina and other areas of maui. Id like to take a moment to honor those we lost in 2023. [moment of silence] i want to express a heart felt mahala, to everyone who suffered tragedy ins the last five and a half months, people have been so brave in the toughest of time. I also want to express to those in need, its been humbling over the past year and jamie and i are grateful. Although weve suffered great challenges and greater loss over the past year weve come together to recover and to heal. I am here to report that the state of hawaii is strong.
