The poorly written Municipal Act/legislation, requires better define of the Municipal Integrity Commissioner role, versus leaving municipal taxpayers, on the hook for council’s improper conduct due to poorly defined provincial rules and regulations.
Here, and in other communities, it’s called “Pass-The-Buck Act.”
With noted rampant abuse, of recent, in Collingwood and North Bay, the Act clearly shows the need for better define of accountability/transparency guidelines along with an update of Municipal Conflict-of-Interest Act. ....
