KINABATANGAN: An estimated RM13 billion is needed in an effort to improve the water quality in Sabah, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
He said the cost, among others, involved works to replace pipes that are more than 50 years old and fix leaking pipes.
“About 45 per cent of the water piping system in Sabah is still using old pipes.some of these pipes were built during the British colonial era and have never been replaced. ....

The Sabah and federal governments aim to get treated water to be supplied to rural residents in all parts of the state by 2035, the Sabah Legislative Assembly was told today.
Sabah Assistant Works Minister Limus Jury (PN-Kuala Penyu) said an allocation of RM2.53 billion was approved under the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP) for the purpose.
Under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), the federal government approved an additional allocation for the Rural Water Supply project of RM450 million, he said in response to an oral question from.
