DUMAGUETE CITY – The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Negros Oriental has been significantly dropping over the last few weeks as a result of the imposition of higher quarantine classifications.
In a virtual presser on Wednesday, Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion, COVID-19 incident commander of the province’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), noted that the average number of daily active infections has dropped from around 3,000 to only about 400.
Estacion also reported that as of Aug. 4, the total caseload is 10,547, broken down into 9,904 recoveries, 428 active infections, and 215 mortalities. ....
