Representative image BENGALURU: Scarcity of beds and shortage of antiviral drug Remdesivir came into focus when a doctor, an internal medicine specialist at a Bengaluru-based lab, lost her 70-year-old father to Covid on Thursday. He was a kidney transplant recipient. Dr Ashwini Sarode told TOI that despite her contacts with doctors in many hospitals, she could not get a bed for her father in any of the top hospitals or doses of Remdesivir. After much effort, he was finally admitted to Sparsh hospital on Mysore Road on Tuesday (April 13). Prior to that he was treated in another hospital for nearly 10 days. ....
