VULNERABLE refugees and asylum seekers in Bradford have been given a surprise Christmas gift thanks to the generosity of residents in Ilkley, Burley-in-Wharfedale and Menston. Each of the 100 families that are currently supported by the charity Bradford Refugee Action will be receiving Christmas gifts for every member of their household, with over 1,000 presents donated by the local community. The initiative, headed up by Ilkley mum and volunteer Felicity Tomblin, involved pupils of All Saints’ Primary School and Ashlands School, as well as local residents buying specific gifts for members of each refugee and asylum seeking family. Once again, the response was incredible, and on Sunday, December 13, three vehicle loads of boxes containing wrapped presents and Christmas cards were transported to Bradford, with each box designated to one particular family. ....
