He was arrested in Hope Mills on Wednesday and is charged with first-degree murder, murder of an unborn child, attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony conspiracy, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, injury to real property, and two counts each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree kidnapping, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department. ....

The slaying of a pregnant Fayetteville woman this week is not believed to be random, police said Thursday. Ashanti Bellamy, 22, was shot multiple times Monday in the 800 block of Ridge Road, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department. Officers responding to a report of shots fired at 9:18 p.m. found Bellamy lying in the road. A man, whose name was not released, was found with a gunshot wound nearby. Bellamy died at the hospital. The man was treated and released. Police on Thursday revealed that Bellamy was pregnant. Fayetteville Police Sgt. Jeremy Glass said the shooting is not believed to be random. ....
