Today the Asante Foundation received a $5 million gift – the largest in Asante’s history – for cancer care. The money was donated by philanthropists Mary and Dick Heimann.

MEDFORD, Ore. – Today the Asante Foundation received a $5 million gift – the largest in Asante’s history – for cancer care. The money was donated by philanthropists Mary and Dick Heimann.
The money will support Asante’s Regional Cancer Institute, recruitment for medical leaders and a pediatric cancer clinic for children facing cancer.
The Heimann’s say they’re honored to give back to their community. ....

MEDFORD, Ore. Asante has a name for its new cancer center following a $5 million donation the largest in the medical provider s history from local philanthropists.
The 80,000 square-foot Heimann Cancer Center, named after Mary and Dick Heimann, has been under development since at least 2019. Asante says that construction is currently underway, and the new building is slated to open in early 2022. ....

Asante said that it is one of four healthcare providers in Oregon offering the monoclonal antibody treatment, due to emergency use approval from the FDA.

ASHLAND, Ore. Asante announced on Wednesday that it is now offering monoclonal antibody treatment for coronavirus patients following emergency use approval of the experimental treatments by the FDA.
“The treatment can have a significant impact on the severity of symptoms people experience as well as help reduce the need for more intense hospital-related interventions,” said Lee Shapley, MD, administrator at Asante Ashland Community Hospital. “By treating people at the early onset of their COVID diagnosis, this therapy can help people recover faster with fewer lingering effects of the disease and keep more people out of the hospital.” ....
