Kunte belongs to the 1985 batch of the
Indian Administrative Service and also served as the municipal commissioner of Mumbai. At present, he is working as the additional chief secretary (home). The government has appointed
1986 batch IAS officer Manu Kumar Srivastava as additional chief secretary (home).
Pardeshi was the topper of the 1985 batch and Kunte was second on the list. Pardeshi is the sonin-law of former chief secretary Arun Bongirwar.
