What are the top issue, arturo, that are resonating with latino voters across our country. good morning, jose. it s good to see you again. the top issues that we have been tracking in the naleo tracking poll over the past nine weeks is the cost of living in inflation is the most important issue consistently for latino voters in the 22 midterm cycle and coming in as number two for the first time ever is women s reproductive rights and abortion rights. now what s significant about that second most important issue is that we ve been polling on this in 2016 and that issue of women s reproductive rights has never risen above 4% and it is now coming in as the second most important issue, and it s even the most most second most important issue for more latino voters in the state of texas than any other state we were able to survey. interesting. when you look at the list of the top ten, number one and number three are kind of economic related, right? ....
Past this and repair these damages, because i have heard from so many black people who are like this is the black brown coalition that you are always talking about, this is how they feel about us, and i have worked with so many people who do not feel that way. your thoughts? first of all, we need to acknowledge that this is happening. we never acknowledge it in the latino community, when you take personal responsibility and also hold our elected officials to a higher standard. we actually do not. it is the reason why many of us actually do not trust and have a hard time trusting elected officials even if they are from our own communities. but, there is an opportunity here, an opportunity for those of us who have been doing this work to continue to lean in and have these courageous conversations. and, like arturo said those individuals that made those racist statements do not represent all latinos that are actually building solidarity and black and brown communities. yes, an importa ....
Jewish american leadership, to determine how community leaders can come together to design a map of districts, power sharing in a way where everybody had a seat at the table, that is not always the goal of incumbents and elected officials. that is why we always draw a very clear line between what incumbents want and what the community wants. yes, i think you make a really good point, there, in another life i worked with you very closely so i am familiar with the work that you do. common, we are running out of time but i think some of the work that you have done, and we saw some of this around the women s march, as these demographics in the country change it is disheartening to see how this setback, and i think arturo makes a good point, let s not make this the actions of these individuals, even though in many ways this is a microcosm for a lot of conversations that happened around anti black sentiment. but, i am curious how we move ....
