Starkville Area Arts Council’s office sits in the back corner of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership complex at the corner of East Main Street and South LaFayette streets.
Barely big enough for two desks and a small table, the cramped office features art in various mediums on three of its four walls. The fourth, behind two dark brown wooden desks, features various posters of past art council events and awards won by said programs.

DANBURY A new event will kick off this Saturday, when the first Arts Block Street Market happens from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
There will be vendors on the sidewalk in the 500 block of Main Street, across from the Old Courthouse and in front of The Arts Place, Rocky’s Coffee & Ice Cream and Artist’s Way Creations.
The market will happen again on the second and fourth Saturday of the month: on April 24, May 8 and May 22. The events are scheduled rain or shine.
“The Stokes County Arts Council is happy to welcome people back to events as We ‘ReStart The Arts,’ encouraging locals and visitors to shop local supporting the small businesses of local artist and business owners,” says Tory Mabe, Stokes County’s Tourism director.

KALAMAZOO, MI The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo announced Tuesday that its previously postponed 2020 Community Arts Awards celebration is going virtual.
Initially scheduled to be held in-person at the Wellspring Theater on Dec. 1, the celebration will now take place virtually at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, premiering live on the Arts Council’s website.
The virtual celebration will feature speeches from award recipients and their nominators, as well as performances by Face Off Theatre Company, Farmers Alley Theatre, Jingqui Liu, Kalamazoo Chinese Academy, Kalamazoo West African Drummers, Last Gasp Collective and Rootead Youth Dance Company.
