Police: Suspect in custody in stabbing death of man in R.I. store

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) A 27-year-old man is in custody on charges stemming from a stabbing death in a North Providence convenience store, police said.
North Providence Police say Christopher Carbajal, 27, is facing charges of murder, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in the death of Brian Cervini, 60.
North Providence Police Chief Arthur J. Martins says first responders were called to a Smith Street convenience store at about 4 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports of a stabbing.
Police say Cervini was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
With help from witnesses, police later found the suspect and took him into custody after a brief struggle. The knife used in the stabbing was recovered inside the store. ....

NORTH PROVIDENCE One man is dead and another is in custody following a stabbing Saturday afternoon inside a Cumberland Farms on Smith Street, the police said.
The police and fire departments were notified around 4 p.m. that a stabbing had occurred inside the store at 2064 Smith St., according to a news release by police Chief Arthur J. Martins.
While first responders were en route, police were notified that the suspect had fled the store and was being followed by several witnesses, Martins said. ....
