Itâs been a little while coming but Savill Galleries in Paddington, scene of the sale of some of Australiaâs most important works, is finally closing its doors.
Owner and director Denis Savill, who started it all 40 years ago in Sydneyâs inner east, surveyed the blank walls on Saturday: âItâs like the pub with no beer. This is the gallery with no pictures.â
