NOIDA: A 50-year-old Covid patient, who underwent a brain surgery at Fortis Hospital in August after a haemorrhage was detected, was declared fit by doctors on Monday. The surgery that lasted for about five hours involved the use of clipping technique in which a small metal clip is used to stop the blood flow.
The patient, Sudeshna Pathak from Aligarh, was asked to go for the surgery in August. But she tested positive for Covid-19. Subsequently, a green corridor was created by the hospital staff to shift her and the equipment needed for her treatment and surgery to another building of the hospital. The surgery was conducted in a special Covid operation theatre. On Monday, the patient, who received Covid treatment for 17 days, and went through several post-surgery follow ups, was declared fit.
