In the Nov. 8 general election, Arkansas voters will weigh a proposed constitutional amendment that would enable Arkansas to join 36 other states in allowing the Legislature to call itself into special session.
The proposed amendment would allow the legislature to call a special session at any time. Currently, only the governor can call a session and has the authority to set the agenda.
Led by Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas Farm Bureau officials, a committee has been formed to campaign against the proposed constitutional amendment that would allow the Legislature to call itself into special session.
