The Lancaster County Community Vaccination Center is prepared to begin vaccinating 12- to 15-year-olds.Shots could begin as early as Thursday after a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention panel endorsed the use of Pfizer s vaccine for adolescents. Earlier this week, the Food and Drug Administration authorized emergency use of the two-shot vaccine made by Pfizer. We re very excited in anticipation for the 12- to 15-year-olds getting approved, said Dr. Michael Ripchinski, of Lancaster General Health.During News 8 s first visit inside the mass vaccination center since it opened in March at Park City Center, Ripchinski showed us the family pods set up for children and their parents.Ripchinski estimates there are about 30,000 children ages 12 to 15 in Lancaster County who could get vaccinated. We re tracking that closely. And overall in the region, we anticipate it could be as many as 50,000 kids that may want to come and get vaccinated, he said.LG Health has the capability ....
