ADE Allocating $16 Million In COVID-19 Relief Funds To Various Initiatives

The Arizona Department of Education is allocating an additional $16 million of its discretionary COVID-19 relief funds, it announced Tuesday. The money is part of the $135.5 million in discretionary funds that the department received from two federal COVID-19 relief packages. With these new allocations, the department has now allocated $116 million of these funds. 
The $16 million will be invested into efforts focused on student equity and achievement, teacher recruitment and retention, and college access and attainment. This includes a partnership on an ASU summer math program for K-12 students, and a laptop and hotspot partnership with the city of Phoenix. ....

College Success Arizona Acquires National Program


College Success Arizona welcomes an important national program with significant potential to impact post-high school enrollment and attainment rates. Called the 
Go Alliance Academy, the program supports the success of all students by providing timely and relevant professional development for school counselors, principals, teachers, the staff of college access programs and others.
Formerly run through the
Go Alliance Academy will now be facilitated through the
Arizona College Access Network (AzCAN), which is a program of College Success Arizona. Arizona previously had access to the 
Go Alliance Academy training modules as part of a compact SREB held with numerous states. A number of those compacts remain in place and future plans include designing new training and re-engaging additional states. ....
