Re-elected MSP Stuart McMillan pledges a future for Inverclyde Royal Hospital

STUART McMillan yesterday pledged a future for Inverclyde Royal in his first post-election win interview but made no mention of the most contentious hospital issue the move of intensive care patients to Glasgow. Greenock & Inverclyde s newly re-elected MSP who previously branded the decision to send ICU patients to Glasgow as appalling made no reference to it when asked about his vision for the hospital going forward. Mr McMillan declared he would fight to protect IRH s accident and emergency department and said that any move to axe this key service would be strongly resisted as non-negotiable . However, he offered no update on his approach to NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde last October for answers to what he described at the time as a list of very specific questions in the wake of the ICU move.
