The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (Dasta) is planning to push Chiang Rai and Phetchaburi to join the list of Unesco Creative Cities Network (UCCN).
Launched in 2004, UCCN aims to promote co-operation among cities that have identified creativity as a strategic factor for sustainable urban development.
UCCN consists of seven categories including creative cities for crafts and folk art, design, film, gastronomy, literature, media arts and music.
At present, 246 cities are in the network. In Thailand, four cities have earned the title. Phuket was named a creative city of gastronomy in 2015, Chiang Mai as a creative city of crafts and folk arts in 2017, Bangkok as a creative city of design and Sukhothai as a creative city of crafts and folk arts in 2019. ....

The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (Dasta) is helping local communities launch 3D street art in Sukhothai province.
The graffiti reflects the local way of life, according to Dasta, and provides an alternative activity for visitors apart from the famed Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai historical parks.
Street art can be found near Talat Rim Yom 2437BC, or the Rim Yom Market, founded in 1894 on the banks of the Yom River in Kong Krailat district. The market is open on every first Saturday of each month from 4-9pm. Visitors can try popular local snacks such as khanom phing (northern-style cookies made of tapioca flour and coconut milk) and thong muan (crispy coconut rolls). ....
