The province says that design plans will soon be underway for a new Weyburn and District General Hospital. Saskatoon-based Group2 Architecture Interior Design Limited has been selected as the design team.
The new hospital will bring together health services which are currently in different locations around Weyburn, and make them accessible under one roof. The 35-bed facility will include primary health services, a 10-bed inpatient mental health unit, and enhanced emergency services, including a heliport.
Once design work is underway, the next stage will be to select a construction team. A multi-stage procurement for construction is anticipated to begin late this summer and construction is expected to begin in 2022.
