The City of Joburg Department of Development Planning is fully migrating to its Construction Permit Management System (CPMS) digital platform and doing away with paper-based manual submissions for building plan applications. As of 03 January 2022, architectural professionals who are registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession, are to submit all building and Site Development Plans for building plan applications online. ....

The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure and the Special Investigating Unit have created a new anti-corruption forum.
The forum is aimed at monitoring infrastructure projects more effectively and putting systems in place to detect and prevent corruption.
Representatives of the forum include the NPA and the Hawks.
