The Swedes have also invented a new term, flygskam, or flight shame, to describe the sense of environmental guilt that many people experience when they fly.
The French also banned domestic flights that are less than 4 hours long.
Unfortunately, there are moments when a flight is unavoidable. You will not ride the slow boat to China if you live in New York and need to visit Shanghai. As a result, flying less is the safest option. ....

World's Largest Volcano 'Mauna Loa' is Waking Up, Scientists Caution People to Prepare for Eruption

Mar 16, 2021 01:14 PM EDT
Researchers observing the disturbed geological activity on the biggest island in Hawaii say that while an explosion of the volcano that controls the landscape is not yet looming, the long nap of Mauna Loa may be coming to an end.
Hawaii s Big Island is probably a compilation of five volcanoes prodding out of the Pacific Ocean, which includes one of the most active Kilauea in the world and the Mauna Loa which is the largest in the world, making up about half the landmass of the island.

Research Provides Answer to Long-standing Question
Researchers like James Gardner from the University of Texas along with Helge Gonnermann and Sahand Hajimirza from the Rice University were able to answer a deep-rooted question about highly explosive volcanic eruptions just like the one that occurred at Mount St. Helens in 1980, another at Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines in 1991, as well as the one at Mount Chaitén in Chile in 2008. ....
