One of Australia’s best race mares Arcadia Queen failed to sell when she was put through the ring at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast on Tuesday.
The Bob Peters-owned mare, a three-time Group 1 winning daughter of Pierro, was regarded as the headline act of the sale but an online bid of $3.4 million wasn’t enough for the West Australian-based owner to part with his prized five-year-old, the winner of eight from 16 with career earnings of more than $3.9 million. ....

One of Europe s most sought-after stallions, Wootton Bassett, will stand his first season in Australia for $71,500, headlining Coolmore s star-studded roster in 2021.
Best known as the sire of champion racehorse-turned-stallion Almanzor, whose first Australasian yearlings have lit up sales rings across the country, Wootton Bassett has taken the Northern Hemisphere by storm with 17 Stakes winners to date.
The other new addition to Coolmore in 2021 is dual Group 1 winner King s Legacy, who will stand his first season at $33,000.
The pair joins a roster that includes champion stallion Fastnet Rock, who will again stand for $165,000 after another successful season via the deeds of his progeny, including G1 winners Avantage, Personal and Rocket Spade. ....
