An intention to establish a new single voice for the area - an Arc Growth Body - to drive and support economic growth
An ambitious plan to unleash the economic and cultural potential of the Oxford-Cambridge Arc, to transform it into one of the world’s premier growth corridors and a world-leader in sustainability, has been announced today (18 February 2021) by Housing Minister Rt Hon Christopher Pincher.
The spatial framework plan will help to create thousands of jobs, drive investment, protect and enhance the environment, and provide the infrastructure and beautiful new places needed to make the area – which spans the five counties of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire – an even greater place to live and work. ....

Ministers recommit to OxCam Arc development plan

Architects respond to news that spatial plan for belt connecting Oxford and Cambridge will be published next year 
The government has re-committed itself to draw up a spatial framework to oversee a £200bn growth drive in the so-called “OxCam Arc” between Oxford and Cambridge, which could lead to one million new homes.
Last year chancellor Rishi Sunak announced plans for a joint spatial plan for the growth corridor in his March Budget, but there has been little further from the government on the subject since then.
Last month there were reports that work on the spatial plan had been delayed and that the document was not expected to be published until 2024. ....
