For the second year in a row, the event will be virtual because of the pandemic. There will be no get-together where they will be feted. From helping children diagnosed with cancer and their families to helping refugees navigate their way in their new country to collecting used musical instruments for schoolchildren who cannot afford to buy them to making beds for children who do not have them, these volunteers have spent countless hours pursuing causes to benefit others. ....

(Paul Buckowski/Times Union)PAUL BUCKOWSKI/Albany Times Union ALBANY - Manning Boulevard will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic on Wednesday to allow for work on the bridge between Colonie Street and Arbor Hill Elementary School, Albany police said. The work will begin at 8 a.m. on Manning between Lark Street and Arbor Drive. A detour will be in place to direct motorists. Pedestrians will be directed by construction crews on how to navigate the bridge during the maintenance work. The road and bridge will both be re-opened as soon as the project is complete, police said. ....
