A soldier at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for a drunken-driving crash that killed a member of his unit who had enlisted less than a year earlier.
Pfc. Arath Esau Martinez-Arguelles, 20, of Sherman Oaks, Calif., was a passenger thrown out of the vehicle upon impact, the service announced in a news release Wednesday.
The U.S. Army has identified the 11th Airborne Division soldier killed in a collision late Sunday on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska as Pfc. Arath Esau Martinez-Arguelles, 20, of Sherman Oaks, California.
