Barbados win 10 medals at CARIFTA GAMES - Barbados Today

Barbados ended the 50th edition of the CARIFTA track and field games in Nassau, Bahamas, with a tally of 10 medals as the Under-17 girls 4x400-metre relay team produced an impressive performance on another night of silver lining for the 23-member team at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium.

Ashlyn Simmons and Layla Haynes were crowned CARIFTA champions after capturing gold medals for Barbados in the evening session of the region’s most prestigious junior track and field meet yesterday at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas.

Barbadian Asabi Callender narrowly missed out on a bronze medal in the morning session of day two at the 50th edition of the CARIFTA Games in Nassau, Bahamas with a fourth-place finish in the Under-20 girls javelin event.
The 18-year-old Callender, who is also a West Indies Under-19 cricketer, registered a best mark of 41.81 metres ....
