최근 한 온라인 맘 카페에 유치원 학부모가 이동형 동물원 에 대해 올린 글이다. 최근 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19)으로 아이들의 체험학습 기회가 줄어들면서 이동형 동물원을 이용하는 곳이 늘고 있다. 이는 일명 찾아가는 동물 수업 으로 유치원·문화센터 등에서 이동 동물 전시 업체와 계약을 맺고 동물을 데려와 전시하거나 직접 만져보게 하는 등 체험을 진행한다. 체험 동물은 주로 패럿, 거북이, 토끼, 기니피그, 새끼 돼지처럼 운반이 쉬운 작은 개체로 구성돼 있다.

코로나19 유행으로 이전처럼 아이들의 현장 체험 학습에 한계가 많은 상황이 반영된 흐름이지만 이렇게까지 체험을 해야 하냐 는 의견과 교육적인 측면에서 어느 정도 필요한 부분 이라는 입장이 대립한다.
