Software maker UiPath aims for nearly $26 billion valuation in U.S. IPO

(Reuters) -Robotic process automation startup UiPath Inc is targeting a valuation of nearly $26 billion in its U.S. initial public offering (IPO), a regulatory filing on Monday showed.
The New York-based company plans to sell 21.3 million shares priced at between $43 and $50 per share, raising about $1.06 billion. UiPath was valued at $35 billion during a funding round earlier this year.
The company uses artificial intelligence and low-code tools to help large corporations and government agencies automate repetitive and routine tasks in areas such as accounting and human resources, a service that has gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic. ....

LONDON (Reuters Breakingviews) - In Ubisoft Entertainment’s “Assassin’s Creed”, players patiently stalk targets before stepping in for the kill. A similar fate may befall founder Yves Guillemot’s Gallic video-game publisher unless he can turn it around soon.
Stuck-at-home players mean gaming companies have generally had a good pandemic. Less so Ubisoft. Shares in the “Prince of Persia” publisher have languished over the past year, whereas rivals Electronic Arts and Activision Blizzard have risen 34% and 60% respectively. Longer-term performance is even worse: since Vivendi dropped a mooted takeover in 2018, Ubisoft’s market value has fallen by 5%, leaving shares valued at just over 8 times forward EBITDA including debt, well below those peers’ double-digit multiples. ....

March 22 (Reuters) - U.S. cloud services provide Box Inc is exploring a sale amid pressure from hedge fund Starboard Value LP over its stock performance, according to people familiar with the matter.
Redwood City, California-based Box has discussed a potential deal with interested buyers, including other companies and private equity firms, the sources said, cautioning that no sale of the company is certain.
The sources requested anonymity because the matter is confidential. Box declined to comment.
Reuters reported last month that Starboard was preparing to launch a board challenge against Box unless it took steps to boost value for shareholders. It has privately expressed disappointment that the company has failed to capitalize on the work-from-home trend during the COVID-19 pandemic, as many of its cloud computing peers have done. ....

(Reuters) - Y Combinator’s Sam Altman is joining forces with veteran Wall Street dealmaker Michael Klein to launch a blank-check firm that is seeking to raise up to $1 billion, according to a regulatory filing on Monday.
Altman, who will also be designated as the co-founder of AltC Acquisition Corp, continues to be chairman at Silicon Valley startup accelerator Y Combinator, which over the years has influenced the creation of dozens of leading startups including Airbnb and Dropbox Inc. ....
