2 Chairman s Statement
Dear Shareholders.
On behalf of my fellow directors, I am delighted to present the annual results of Sure Ventures plc (the Company ) for the year ended 31 March 2021.
FINANCIAL Performance
The Company s performance for the year to 31 March 2021 was broadly in line with expectations, returning a net asset value ( NAV ) total return per share of -0.58% (31 March 2020 +11.54%). In a year that witnessed a strong recovery in public markets from the March 2020 COVID-19 crisis sell-off, global private equity and venture capital activity dropped dramatically in the Spring and Summer of 2020, to then follow the public markets positive recovery into the second half of 2020. Given that the overall private market deal count remained low in most sectors last year, it is anticipated that 2021 will be a strong year of pent-up demand as capital is put to work in the private markets, and particularly in high-growth technolog ....
