Potential for tornadic activity. that s the other thing. people are concerned about tornadic activity. the last time when hurricane ian came to this side of florida, people first were alerted it was coming. there was a tornado that showed up. so, there are a lot of things that can happen that are unpredictable in these storms because they do create their own weather, don t they? 100%. you have to look out for the wobbles. we talk about that so much. that is what is so crucial because the way that this storm is approaching the florida peninsula will run parallel. if we get an east ward jog or west ward jog, that puts major population densities at play. tampa bay, for instance, clearwater where we are located. if it goes further west, apalachicola, panama city. it s a game of miles. pay attention the forecast track. right now we have big bend cedar key. anywhere this will be a large storm as it continues to expand, intensify. ....

It right now. pretty unorganized. that s not expected to continue. but at least for right now, it s unorganized. then you take the path right on up to the north of tampa or possibly as far west as apalachicola. you ve to understand the cone here. the cone is only meant to catch 66% of all hurricane tracks. that s how it s made. so, one-sixth of all hurricanes could go to the right. the other sixth could go to the left. hurricane center narrowing the focus so we have a focus on where they believe the biggest threat will be and how big the track error has been over the many, many years. that s how the track is actually made. here s how the guidance shapes up though, all the way up here to the north of big bay. one thing i just noticed, there s an ibm graph weather model that just printed out, taking it a little bit closer to cedar key. that was the latest model there that i was just looking at. 90-mile-per-hour winds, easy when you have 90-degree water. this is a big event here. ....

Category 4 as it rapidly intensifies over the next 24 hours. the waters by the way in the gulf of mexico way above average. that s the fuel that this storm needs to really power up, right? so hurricane warnings in effect for all the pink areas that you see here, including cedar key, gainesville, up towards apalachicola. tampa you are also into a hurricane warning. we talked about this last year with ian. tampa is so vulnerable for storm surge and flooding. so the storm surge warning for all of these big cities down towards sarasota, storm surge watch all the way down towards naples. the storm is huge. it s going to impact not only the west coast but the east coast of florida. over 9 # foot storm surge along that big bend this is one of the most vulnerable spots for storm surge. it s all about the storm surge. you can protect yourself from the wind but you have to run away. when it documents these land falling hurricanes, steve, ainsley, brian. ....

Sarasota now 20 miles per hour. i was watching some video there out of key west, and the palm trees are ripping there. so that could be at least 30, 35. right now the storm itself is 85 miles per hour. it is not gaining strength that rapidly yet. we expect this rapid intensification up a number of miles per hour over a 24-hour period. sometimes 35 miles per hour over a 24-hour period. but it s the storm surge up here in the big bend. think of this like a catcher s mitt. this is going to catch all of the water. all of the surge that tries to come up along the coast can t go any further. it s going to be from apalachicola all the way to cedar key. that s where the biggest threat will be. for tampa four to seven feet. but that doesn t start till tomorrow morning. there may even be water running out of tampa bay for today. but for tomorrow morning all the wind shifts back from the west and all of a sudden you start to push that water back in. so 125-mile-per-hour landfall. ....
