May 21, 2021, 14:15 IST VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday cancelled the Parishad elections (MPTC ZPTC polls 2021), which were held on April 8. A single bench of the High Court also directed the State Election Commission (SEC) to issue fresh notification and conduct the elections again after the COVID cases subside. It may be recollected that the SEC had issued a notification on April 1 for the Parishad elections for the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) to be resumed after they were postponed on March 15, 2020, due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the elections for panchayats and urban local bodies were completed in March, the parishad elections had to wait. ....
AMARAVATI: Telugu Desam Party senior leader and Sangam Dairy chairman Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar faced a setback in the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday, when it struck down his quash petition. AP High Court Stays Elections In Eluru Municipal Corporation Over Anomalies In Voters List Mar 09, 2021, 13:19 IST AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued Stay Orders on the conduct of the Eluru municipal corporation elections to be held on March 10 on Monday and has given the authorities the option of correcting anomalies in the voters list. A single-judge bench, headed by Justice DVSS Somayajulu issued interim orders to this effect The Judge was hearing a batch of petitions seeking an interim order to stay the March 10 polls to the Eluru municipal corporation as the authorities failed to rectify the anomalies in the preparation of electoral rolls and provision of reservation as mentioned in the petition. ....
