The ongoing heatwave in Prayagraj has led to a three-fold increase in the demand for oral rehydration solutions (ORS) and other electrolyte replenishing products like Glucose and Enerzal. Retailers in the city have claimed to have adequate stock of these products. Doctors are advising people to stay hydrated as the mercury crosses 48 degrees Celsius. The sale of ORS, Glucose, and Enerzal has set a record of up to Rs 4 to 5 crore this summer season. It is essential to consume ORS to prevent heat stroke by replenishing lost electrolytes like sodium and potassium.
The court of district judge has fixed July 6 as the next date for hearing on the plea of Rakhi Singh and others seeking permission for worship of deities in Gyanvapi mosque compound.
