A community group in York is trying to help police fight gun crime by offering a cash reward for tips.Anu Banks came up with the idea. He’s the organizer of the group, called The Movement. The organization was the victim of gun violence last month. Its building on the 600 block of East Market Street was hit by gunfire on March 29.Police released photos of two people believed to be connected. In response to gun violence in the city, Banks said his group will offer money for solid information to help police. We’re going to give $100 tips that produce either the arrest of an individual or getting a gun off the street, where they actually receive a gun, Banks said. The Movement has $1,500 in its reward fund. Individuals or groups that are interested in contributing to the fund can contact the organization. We never really have all the answers to solve things, but we are trying to have a solution to something. Just make a step to do something, Banks said.
