The Antrim ZBA is seeking alternates this year to serve on the Board. Alternates take the place of members during public hearings on applications if a board member is absent, and participate as non-voting members in all other circumstances. There is a strong need for at least one, if not two alternates to be on the ZBA this year. The ZBA is a voluntary board made up of five citizens who act as the “constitutional safety valve” in a quasi-judicial capacity to interpret the Zoning Ordinance for the protection of the citizens. There is also an open position for a full board member. The ZBA meets as needed on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. No prior experience is necessary.
