The 34-year-old resident, Nadyar Malaka, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin Wednesday, a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut read. Bond was set at $250,000 for Malaka, who has been released before his Oct. 14 sentencing date, according to the release. “According to court documents and statements made in court, an investigation revealed that Eddy Antonio Torres Morel was trafficking narcotics from Big Daddy’s Deli and Jamal’s Market, two stores he operated on East Main Street in Bridgeport,” the release read. “During the investigation, law enforcement made two controlled purchases of a half-kilogram of heroin from Torres, first a

Meriden man pleads guilty to heroin sales at Bridgeport stores Meriden man pleads guilty to heroin sales at Bridgeport stores June 29, 2021 06:14PM By Nick Sambides Jr., Record-Journal staff A Meriden man has pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiring to distribute more than a kilogram of heroin from two food stores he operated in Bridgeport. Eddy Antonio Torres Morel, 50, of Meriden, was allegedly selling drugs from Big Daddy’s Deli and Jamal’s Market, two stores he operated on East Main Street in Bridgeport. Police allegedly made two purchases of a half-kilogram each of heroin from Torres, first at Jamal’s in October 2019, and at Big Daddy’s in January 2020, according to a statement released by officials from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
