Duterte Youth urges end of PUP-DND pact that bans state forces in campus

FILE PHOTO Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 20) A congresswoman of the Duterte Youth Partylist has called on the Department of National Defense to scrap its pact with the Polytechnic University of the Philippines that bans the unannounced entry of uniformed security personnel in school premises. Duterte Youth Rep. Ducielle Cardema on Tuesday said the accord between DND and the state university should also be abrogated, similar to what Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana did with the 1989 deal with the University of the Philippines. She questioned why the two universities are given special treatment when other state universities and colleges are not given a similar privilege.

Duterte Youth solon seeks revival of anti-subversion law

By ERWIN COLCOL, GMA News Published December 15, 2020 3:23pm Updated December 15, 2020 3:27pm Duterte Youth party-list Representative Ducielle Cardema is seeking the revival of the Anti-Subversion Act as she filed a measure proposing to outlaw the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), the New People s Army (NPA), as well as the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP). Cardema s proposal is contained in House Bill 8231, which she called the proposed Anti-CPP-NPA-NDF Act of 2021 . The measure likewise outlaws all other organizations that support the CPP, NPA, and NDF in their recruitment, operations, financial transactions, among others. According to Cardema, the repeal of the Anti-Subversion Law in 1992 through RA 7636 was a mistake as it allowed the terrorist activities of CPP and NPA to continue, and they supposedly used the NDF and other civilian organizations as fronts in recruiting for, operating, and financing their terrorist activities.

Duterte Youth partylist seeks to revive anti-subversion law

Published December 15, 2020, 5:31 PM Newly-installed Rep. Ducielle Cardema of the Duterte Youth Partylist has sought the revival of the anti-subversion law, the potent martial law legal weapon that then President Ferdinand Marcos against critics and political foes. In filing House Bill 8231or the Anti-CPP-NPA-NDF Act of 2021, Cardema cited the support of defense and military officials in seeking to outlaw again the Communist Party of the Philippines, New People’s Army and the National Democratic Front. Ironically, it was former President Fidel V. Ramos, the highest military official to become president of the country, who signed the law that repealed the anti-subversion law and gave the CPP its legal existence.
