WADA issues reminder as 2021 World Anti-Doping Code enters into force

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has issued a reminder to all stakeholders that the 2021 World Anti-Doping Code has now entered into force.
From Friday (January 1), the Code, new International Standards, and the Athletes Anti-Doping Rights Act came into force.
The documents, subject to a two-year stakeholder consultation process, were approved on November 7 2019 during WADA s World Conference on Doping in Sport in Katowice in Poland.
The 2021 Code, which follows on from previous versions that entered into effect in 2004, 2009 and 2015, includes a number of changes to global anti-doping policies, rules and regulations within anti-doping organisations (ADOs) around the world. ....

Kenyan President signs amended anti-doping bill to align with WADA Code

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has signed an amendment to the country s anti-doping bill to bring it in line with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regulations.
Kenyatta penned the amendment yesterday, a day before the new World Anti-Doping Code came into effect.
According to the President s official
Twitter account, the new law amends the Anti-Doping Act of 2016 to align Kenya s legislative framework with the 2021 World Anti-Doping code and regulations .
It also ensures the continued participation of Kenyan athletes in local, regional and international competitions in line with the United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Convention against doping in sports . ....
