That one of the dangers of your approach to politics is you create a cynicism about politicians. glad you are laughing because not what the politicians are laughing. i mean, people say that, the thing about greta thunberg is that she makes people think that all politicians are rubbish, useless, blah, blah, blah. yeah. what do you say to that? one third of our anthropogenic co2 emissions have been emitted since 2005. that s then the progress, they said, should not be dismissed as a blah, blah, blah. of course, all of politicians are not evil. i have never said that, i don t understand where that comes from. there are many who are trying, but overall, the people who are in power have been moving us in the wrong direction. would you ever go into politics? i don t want to! why? don t you feel an obligation, a duty? i mean, first of all, i don t want to. laughs. because it feels like that world is so toxic. but also, the main reason is, as it is now, the changes necessary will only co ....

"Conceptualizing ecosystem degradation using mangrove forests as a mode" by Erik S. Yando, Taylor M. Sloey et al.

The status and potential degradation of an ecosystem is often difficult to identify, quantify, and characterize. Multiple, concurrent drivers of degradation may interact and have cumulative and confounding effects, making mitigation and rehabilitation actions challenging to achieve. Ecosystem status assessments generally emphasize areal change (gains/losses) as a primary indicator; however, this over-simplifies complex ecosystem dynamics and ignores metrics that would better assess ecosystem quality. Consideration of multiple indicators is necessary to characterize and/or anticipate ecosystem degradation and appropriately identify factors causing changes. We utilize mangrove forests as a model system due to their distribution across a wide range of geographic settings, their position in the inherently dynamic coastal zone, and the multiple natural and anthropogenic pressures they face. We present a conceptual framework to: i) examine drivers of ecosystem degradation and characterize sy ....

Actually happening around the world, they look at the fires and the floods and the hurricanes and the increased incidence of all three, and they think something is happening here. they look at that graph. you see that graph yesterday morning? incredibly powerful graph that sir david attenborough produced that sir david attenborough produced that the increase in co2 emissions over the last few thousand years, or the graph of c02 over the last few thousand years, or the graph of co2 emissions and the temperatures. how temperatures track c02 temperatures. how temperatures track co2 emissions. then that spike in co2 emissions. then that spike in co2 emissions. then that spike in co2 emissions. that anthropogenic spike upwards and a company now. they re not dumb, they can see that this is something that needs to be tackled. we will tackle it by creating many, many hundreds of thousands of high skilled jobs in ....

Global warming associated with one in three deaths
01 Jun 2021, 14:03 GMT+10
London [UK], June 1 (ANI): Between 1991 and 2018, more than a third of all deaths in which heat played a role were attributable to human-induced global warming, according to a new article in the journal Nature Climate Change.
The study, the largest of its kind, was led by the London School of HygieneTropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the University of Bern within the Multi-Country Multi-City (MCC) Collaborative Research Network. Using data from 732 locations in 43 countries around the world shows for the first time the actual contribution of human-made climate change in increasing mortality risks due to heat. ....
