I235 22nd i235 euclid first on 13. An overnight speeding through snowy streets. It all happened just after midnight on des moines west side. Police say they were responding to a Home Invasion in the 600 block of park avenue when two men sped off in a car, leading officers on a high speed chase. It all came to an end here, at 63rd and park. Where the car crashed into a ditch. Officers say the chase reached speeds of 70 Miles Per Hour at points, so they put down stop sticks. With flat tires, the driver tried to turn onto 63rd. But their tires spun out. The men quickly escaped the car and ran into a nearby wooded area. Officers were able to follow their footprints in the fresh powder and arrest them soon after. The driver now faces charges of traffic violations and felon in possession of a firearm.
